For Iris's Arrival in My Life

Since January 25, 2016; when Mari, a friend, gave me a notebook, I decided to start writing my new story, the story of Iris (my pancreatic cancer), and how she transformed me, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Before Iris appeared in my life, I believed I had found my purpose on this plane of existence. I felt happy, fulfilled, and complete. I thought I lived my life intensely, connected with the here and now. My motto was that I lived life my way, happy and at peace. The diagnosis showed me how wrong I was and how much I still had to learn.

With Iris, I learned that there were still wounds to heal, even though I had walked a long path of healing and forgiveness. I understood that, despite having studied a lot about cancer, long before suffering from it, I still knew almost nothing about this condition.

I was able to understand that knowing it is not the same as living it; and for this reason, I have decided to share what my process of physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual healing has been.
